A Walk down the history lane
It is one of the most popular landmarks in Jaipur and is indeed a magnificent piece of architecture. Built with pink sandstone this honeycombed style palace was built in the late 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh for the royal ladies. It enabled them to watch the happenings on the street without being seen by others. It is now home to a museum with artifacts and paintings from that era.
The Nahargarh Fort is a strong fort that overlooks the city and offers splendid views of the cityscape. The main purpose of it was for defense and military purposes. Legends say that the spirit of a dead prince, Nahar Singh disrupted the construction of the fort and that his spirit agreed to leave if only the fort was named after him.
The royal family of Jaipur still dwells in this wonderful palace. It was built to be the royal residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur. It is now home to a museum and many impressive courtyards, gardens and buildings. This beautiful palace was built between 1729 and 1732.
Amer Fort is located at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur city on a hill. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Jaipur.
